St Mirren 2–0 Aberdeen – Match Summary

St Mirren put in a confident, controlled performance to beat Aberdeen 2–0, and once again proved that their home ground is less of a stadium and more of a no-win zone for Stephen Robinson… who, somehow, still can’t seem to crack the code there. At this point, it’s starting to look personal.

Jonah Ayunga's first-half strike opened the scoring as St Mirren secured back-to-back wins under caretaker boss Craig McLeish

The hosts were on top for most of the match and got their reward just before halftime when Jonah Ayunga slotted home in the 40th minute. Aberdeen, meanwhile, were about as threatening as a sleepy cat — plenty of movement, not much danger.

Things didn’t get much better for the visitors in the second half. Despite needing a response, they struggled to create anything meaningful. No shots on target tells its own story — the St Mirren goalkeeper could probably have brought a deck chair.

Late on, Alex Gogic popped up with a header in the 83rd minute to seal the win and send the home fans into celebration mode.

    The big takeaway:
St Mirren were sharp, organised, and deserved winners. Aberdeen, on the other hand, left with nothing… except maybe a growing suspicion that St Mirren Park has some sort of anti-Robinson curse.

At this rate, breaking that streak might require more than tactics — maybe a lucky charm or two.
